All fashion graduates are encouraged to set up a online fashion portfolio on 'Arts Thread' which can be viewed at GFW. A great source for potential employers to search your profile and work. I was having a look on arts threads and saw that my work/profile came up first in the portfolio search engine. Exciting moment.

MANNEQUIN PHOTO SHOOT
So...exciting news, I have been asked to design, style and edit for a photo shoot. I was pretty excited the theme and concept was really cool. Something I'd definitely enjoy and did enjoy working on. The commissioned work was for a photography competition. The brief was to pick work of a well established fashion photographer and inspire from their work. Taking inspiration from their style and technique to create a totally new image without duplicating original.
This was the creative mood board we came up with, our favourite images. We came up with the idea to create a life size mannequin to demonstrate the beauty of fashion and the power of craft with a play on role reversals.
I came up with the idea to make a papermache garment, I thought this wear i could replicate the actually structural form of a mannequin and by using unconventional methods and materials I felt it would only enhance the final image.
So i started by doing a test piece on a smaller mannequin to see if it kept its shape and allowed me to cut away the layered papermache dress without falling apart.
For props to support the concept and design I made life size jewellery. I thought creating a giant broken pearl necklace and a giant measuring tape will add to the theoretical effect.
Process of editing the final photos EXCITED!!
FINAL PHOTOS...

This is my favourite, I love the doll like effect, exactly what I wanted to achieve with this shoot. Model was absolutely perfect.

FASHION FAVOURITE OF THE MONTH
FASHION FAVOURITE OF THE MONTH
I am always attracted to something pretty and shiny i swear I feel like a magpie sometimes when it comes to shopping. Bright, bold or bling and it usually catches my eye every time. I always come across beautiful accessories and fashion pieces so I feel it vital to include in my blog and share my pretty findings.
When i saw this I LOVED IT, but I have been trying so hard to manage my compulsive spending. So I managed to persuade myself to part with it and not buy.
Then I forgot I have amazing friends, as she only bought this and surprised me with it. No occasion or reason just purely awesome. Thats true friendship, unconditional and thoughtful love.

COMMISSIONED PROJECT - GRATTAN FASHION SHOW AT IMAX BRADFORD
As mentioned in my earlier posts, I had been asked to work with a well established fashion catalogue company in my final year, "Grattan Freemans Company". So here are a few images supporting my research, design ideas and final outcome with a sneak clip from the fashion show. I was so glad to be asked to partake in such a amazing event which celebrated fashion of all eras.
Others thought I was mad to take on this extra work with my finals but I believe no opportunity should be wasted. It was a very long process and work to the build up of the show. I couldn't be more happy with the design and final outcome. I love the design and dress and so lucky that "Grattan Freemans Company" gave me total freedom in design and trusted me to follow the brief with my own interpretation.

OUTF1T SIX
Toile of final outfit for my collection. Outfit Six.
This garment had a similar shaping to outfit one and once again it was the issue of fit. The fit for my designs and collection has to be perfect. There is no other way to demonstrate the shape and texture of my fabrics and collection concept without careful consideration of fit and tailoring. After all my collection focuses on craftsmanship. Focusing on the long lasting life of unique and individual products.

Emphasise of the please detail with the same use of mesh power net fabric.
Pinching in at the centre front darts around bust, to gain perfect fit.
LINING, for some of my outfits including outfit 6 I had made quite the task for myself with my design concept. Leaving al lot of trial and error with my lining to achieve the perfect finish. I find the whole construction of lining very fascinating, while others are easily frustrated with the concept of lining, I feel it gives your product the professional finish.
