Today I went to Huddersfield, to attend a "Sylvia Ayton presentation - A Love hate Relationship with Couture..."
BREIF CAREER PROFILE: -
1957-60: Attended Royal College of Art, London
1957-60: Attended Royal College of Art, London
1959-63: Freelance Design career
1964: Partnership with Zandra Rgodes and opened Fulham Road Clothes Shop, London.
1969: Designed outerwear for Wallis
1969: Freelance designer and pattern cutter.
1986: Awarded MBE - Member of British Empire

I very much enjoyed this presentation and found it inspiring to listn to Sylvia's Journey to Success...During the question and answer session Sylvia Ayton was asked what advice she had for future aspiring designers.
'Try to focus on what your good at,instead of trying to be good at lot of different things. Soak up anything you learn and read like sponge. Knowledge is important to being one step ahead. Try to look for market and build you skills and career to fit there..."
